Guest speaker, Stephanie Sharpe, from Malama I Na Honu recently visited our Grade 1 students! She helped them launch their Project Based Learning (PBL) unit, which focuses on raising an awareness and promoting the conservation of animals. Students are working in groups to research different animals that they will write a book about to share with their Grade 6 buddies. 

 

At this visit, students learned about honu, or Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. It was a very informative and fun presentation that got our students out of their shells and asking a ton of questions about honu.
