Hanalani believes co-curricular activities like athletics teach valuable critical skills. Collaboration, Leadership, Communication, Determination, and many of character traits have no better place to develop than in athletics. Lower and Upper School interscholastic sports programs provide eligible students with opportunities to develop in leadership, sportsmanship, and Christian character.

The mission and philosophy of Hanalani athletics is to encourage student-athletes to achieve excellence during and beyond their competitions. “Run to win!” is our goal and motto taken from 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. The desire of the Athletic Department is to support a venue in which players can learn the importance of sacrifice, teamwork, and determination as they honor God through their actions and attitudes.

The Royals compete at the elementary, intermediate, JV, and varsity levels on almost 40 teams and in more than 10 different sports. Hanalani is a member of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) and participates in the Pac Five Athletic Program. Lower School athletes participate in the Christian School Athletic League (CSAL).
