Dr. Evan Kawamura ’12 From NASA Visits our 3rd Graders

Guest speaker and Hanalani Schools alumnus,  Dr. Evan Kawamura ’12, and NASA Engineer, helped our Grade 3 students launch their Project Based Learning (PBL), “A Whole New Starry World.” Dr. Kawamura shared an out of this world presentation about the planets in our solar system and students eagerly asked questions. Our students orbited around Dr. Kawamura and were caught in his gravitational pull to hear his answers. 

 

Dr. Kawamura also shared his academic trajectory, which provided a road map for students if they want to follow in his footsteps. He shared from his time at Hanalani Schools, to college, and eventually landing a job at NASA. Fun fact, he was in Mrs. Stoker’s Grade 3 class!
