Grade 5 Had a Thundering Good Time Visiting NOAA!
Grade 5 had a thundering good time on their field trip to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)! This field trip aligns perfectly with the end of their unit on weather and clouds. They enjoyed a tour of NOAA's Tsunami Warning Center, where they witnessed a false alarm go off. The oceanographer even came in to check it, which was a great experience for the students. They also got to see a Tsunami simulator, which was totally tubular, and they absolutely loved!
They also toured NOAA's real-life innovation lab and received a presentation on the various jobs represented at NOAA. This helped them understand how they can prepare
for future careers in science or at NOAA. We truly appreciate NOAA’s mission of Science, Service, and Stewardship.
