Grade 7 English Students Hosts their EXPLORE MORE SENSORY FAIR for their Grade 5 Classmates

7^th grade English students held their EXPLORE MORE SENSORY FAIR last week. They are studying, “Under the Blood Red Sun,” a historical fiction book about the attack on Pearl Harbor. The students explored some of the subtopics in the book like samurai swords, pigeons as war heroes, Hawaiian culture, Japanese internment camps, and baseball in 1941. 

 

This PBL (Project Based Learning) was designed with 5^th graders in mind. Grade 5 students sampled internment camp food, tried out their baseball swing, and learned to dance hula.
