Ka Imi Loa: 7th - 12th grade

 

Upper School summer courses are for students 7th-12th grade. All courses are for credit which can be applied to your school year credit requirements.

  • Intermediate Math

    1/2 credit

    An introductory Mathematics course designed for students to work on whole number concepts, operations, problem solving, decimals, fractions, and percents.
  • Pre-Algebra

    8:00 - 11:55 AM :: $860.00

    1 credit

    Course starts with a review of arithmetic, then introduces various algebraic topics.
  • Algebra I

    8:00 - 11:55 AM :: $860.00

    1 credit

    This course builds upon the foundation of arithmetic. It starts with a review of basic computations. Then, it introduces various algebraic topics.

  • Neighbor Island Mission Trip

    June 28 - July 3

    1 credit

    This 4-week class (June 28 - July 3) is designed to introduce the students to the philosophy and practice of missions. Class time will be split between learning about missions and preparing for the a Kauai mission trip, which will take place the last week of class.
  • Physical Education/Athletics

    12:15 - 2:00 PM :: $430.00 :: 1/2 credit

    12:15 - 3:00 PM :: $600.00 :: 1 credit

    Students learn and improve soccer, football, softball, basketball, track & field, volleyball, jump rope, and sport stacking. Physical fitness is also emphasized and tested continually throughout the course. Students receive theory discussing fitness, personal health, and nutrition, and have the opportunity to earn the Presidential Fitness Award.
  • PSAT/SAT Prep

    12:15 - 2:00 PM :: $430.00

    1/2 credit

    Prepare for the PSAT/SAT by learning test-taking skills along with reviewing exam questions and sample essays. Practice tests will build your confidence and identify how to attain the highest scores as the testing day approaches.
  • Intermediate English

    8:00 - 9:55 AM :: $430.00

    1/2 credit

    An introductory English course with a focus on basic composition designed to improve writing, listening, speaking, and thinking skills.
  • English I

    8:00 - 11:55 AM :: $860.00

    1 credit

    This course focuses on improvement of grammar and composition skills, along with fundamentals of the English language.
  • Anatomy & Physiology (New)

    8:00 - 11:55 AM :: $860

    1 credit

    This course introduces the students to the fundamentals and principle concepts of human anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. Topics include an introduction to the structure and function of cells, tissues, and human organ systems. Upon completion, students should be able to identify structures and functions of the human body.
  • Art

    12:15 - 2:00 PM :: $430

    1/2 credit

    An overview of a variety of types of art, with in-depth instruction in each.

Athletic Clinic Programs

Hanalani's athletic clinics offer a chance for students to improve on the sport of their choice. Clinics will cover the sport's fundamental skills, light conditioning drills, improved individual technique, team coordination, and team drills (where applicable).

Athletic clinics are a healthier alternative than spending the summer in front of the TV or computer! Come join us for fun this summer by enrolling today.

What to Bring

Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Older students please bring a towel and change of shirt. See individual listings for sport-specific required items.

What to Wear

For all clinics, please wear modest shorts, t-shirt, and athletic (or appropriate) footwear. Hanalani PE attire is preferred.
