Join Miss Peterson this summer, where each student will learn to play a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass) as part of a strings ensemble. Students will also develop their singing voices as part of a choir. And they will gain a greater grasp of music through instruction in music theory.
Academy participants will receive both individual instruction and group practice in a supportive and motivating setting. Practice at home won't be required (but will help students to advance). At the end of the program, students will demonstrate some of what they have learned in an evening concert.
The Summer Music Academy will be held concurrent with Ka Imi Loa. Students will need to be picked up by 11:15 a.m. -OR- be enrolled in Ka Imi Loa for the remainder of the day. Students enrolled in Ka Imi Loa will attend the Friday field trips.
