HECO Engineer Lights Up High Schoolers
On April 21, Mr. Mark Yamamoto from Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) came to discuss with the Hanalani Chemistry, Physical Science, and Physics students the basics of how electricity is generated, distributed, and consumed in Hawaii. He also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of various types of light bulbs used in the common household and what is means to leave electrical lights / components on while not using them. Mr. Yamamoto was also able to demonstrate the current the level of electrical power consumption by the various light bulbs being demonstrated.
