4th Graders Study Hawaiian Culture

Miss AhQuin's and Miss Brown's classes have started their Hawaiiana Studies. They went on a field trip to the 'Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute at Ko' Olina' on April 16, 2009. There they were taught 4 classes by 4 very knowledgeable Kumus. They went on a Nature Walk, learned Hawaiian Song, played 'Ulu Maika (a game of skill, a little like bowling), and Music with the Bamboo pipes. These classes gave the students a better understanding of their Hawaiian culture and heritage. And will prepare them for their upcoming Hawaiiana Project. Pictures and story by A. Limatoc, Hanalani parent.
