Oahu School Wins International Robotics Contest
Local news station KHON2 captures Hanalani's recent BotBall win:
Hanalani Botball Team Sweeps Top Honors
The Hanalani Botball team now holds the World Record for points scored among the nation's botball teams this year after the regional held at the Hawaii Convention Center on Saturday, May 1. They faced last year's regional champions from the Hawaii Preparatory Academy in three double elimination matches, losing the first and winning the last two meetings. Please pray for the team as they will compete internationally at the Global Conference on Educational Robotics, GCER, in Saint Louis from July 6-11.
Honors: 1st place overall, 1st place double elimination, 1st place seeding, outstanding online documentation, judges choice trophy

Hanalani At the State Science Fair
Seven students will be representing Hanalani at the 2010 Hawaii State Science & Engineering Fair which is being held at the Hawaii Convention Center this week. Representative students include:

Hanalani in the Pac-West
Hanalani Schools and Hanalani student Kellen Abe found themselves mentioned in a Honolulu Advertiser (HawaiiPreps.com) article about the freshly minted Pac-West. The article covers the formation of the up-and-coming nature of Pac-West, a group of Leeward Oahu high schools that participate in team sports together. Kellen Abe is quoted in the article.

Career Day When I grow up I want to be... Come dressed in the attire you will wear to work once you graduate from school. Dress Standards: Loose-fitting pants/capris, jeans, knee-length shorts will be allowed for the girls; and jeans or knee-length shorts are acceptable for the boys. Please use good judgement and dress modestly. Students with un-acceptable attire will be asked to call home for a school uniform. |

For those who participate everyday, your name will go into a drawing for a surprise "Spirit Bag", which will be awarded at the wrap-up rally in April. Hanalani's Upper School Japan Bowl Team found themselves mentioned in an article published on the Honolulu Advertiser website after their recent win.
Upper School Banquet Date Changed
Just in case you might have missed it, the Upper School Banquet date was changed from April 16, 2010 to April 23, 2010.
Cheaper By the Dozen: Feb 19 & 20
The Hanalani Upper School's annual drama production is coming up on February 19th and 20th. Join us at 7:00 PM in the Student Activity Center. Tickets are $3 and available for pre-purchase in the office or at the door.
Shop for Higher Education 2010
Help Hanalani Schools earn points in Foodland's Shop for Higher Education program. Designate Hanalani Schools (#7519) as your school of choice with your Maika'i Card whenever you purchase products at Foodland, Sack'N'Save, and Foodland Farms.
Earn points faster by purchasing products marked "DOUBLE", "TRIPLE", or "QUINTUPLE" points. Designation is required only on the first visit.
Program runs from February 10 to March 23.
Upper School Japan Trip
Ms. Stoker of the History Department has just made available the interest sheet for the Upper School Japan trip! This is a great opportunity for Upper School students to travel!
The trip will take place during Spring Break 2011 and includes 9 days of travel in Tokyo, Hakone, and Kyoto. Cost and registration information included in the interest sheet.
